FENTON Welcomes Main Mobility To The Team!

FENTON Mobility Products, Inc. (FENTON), has announced the acquisition of long-time mobility dealer and fellow upfitter Main Mobility of Buffalo New York
Previous owner Tom Lorentz’s number one concern in deciding the fate of the 37-year run company started by his grandfather, was that the future of his customers be in good hands with someone well versed in the industry that shares the same dedication to safety, quality and customer service as his own. The acquisition was the result of FENTON and Main Mobility’s mutual respect for each other’s heritage and vested interest in their teams, end users and companies’ futures.

Despite being competitors, the two companies have always worked closely together even joining forces on several projects over the years. The collaboration, “just made sense” says FENTON President Scott Fenton, who continued, “I have long known and respected Tom & Joyce Lorentz and the entire Main Mobility Team. We were thrilled to welcome Main Mobility as an AbiliTrax and Shift-N-Step Dealer back in 2015 and are even more thrilled to now be able to officially welcome Main Mobility to the FENTON family. Main Mobility was built with the same foundational values that FENTON was built on, and we are proud to continue its legacy into the future.”

FENTON Mobility began converting vehicles in the mid 1980’s, out of Jamestown NY. In 2015 the company launched AbiliTrax, a patented modular flooring and accessories product line followed by 3 additional patented seating solutions and the patented Shift-N-Step Dual Access Lift System. By December 2018, having tripled in size, FENTON moved into their new manufacturing and upfit plant in Randolph, NY and transitioned solely to the commercial market.

The acquisition of Main Mobility further increases FENTON’s shares in the specialized mobility market and solidifies FENTON’s position as one of the leading Mobility Dealers in New York State. GM Mary Gabalski stated “The collaboration of Main Mobility with FENTON will allow us to return to our retail roots and now serve both the retail and commercial markets with more man power and resources than ever before. We are looking forward to this exciting future together.”
The merging of two of the longest running mobility upfitters in the region began early October 2020 with Main Mobility’s move to its new location at 5375 Transit Road in Buffalo, shared with FENTON’s Buffalo service location.
Despite the changeover in ownership, Mr. Lorentz will remain in close contact with the team, staying on to support community events and outreach which were at the heart of all he loved most throughout his long and prestigious career.
Main Mobility, which will continue to operate under that name, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of FENTON Mobility Products, Inc.
