Alex Foris began his career in accounting and moved on to sell parts to the RV industry after serving in the military. He then worked with a large shuttle bus manufacturer for six years before setting out on his own. He knew he could build units better than others were building. He then built his first successful vehicle company, “Ameritrans by TMC Group Inc.” In 2012 Alex sold his company and considered retiring. He decided he would miss the excitement of building great products and having satisfied customers. He chose instead to expand his existing relationship with Terry Minix, with whom he had worked on several custom vehicle projects.

Terry Minix’s vehicle building career began way back in 1981 in his parent’s van business. He purchased that business in 1984. Terry came from the housing construction world. He learned the benefit of building for quality as a key priority. Twenty six years ago a customer of Terry’s referred him to a surgical instrument company for building their custom vehicles. They are still Terry’s customer today. His first RV was made from a used surgical van he bought from them. He and Alex share an interest in vehicle design innovation.

This solid working relationship, years of expertise and focus on high-quality craftsmanship led to the founding of SVO Group, inc., their current joint venture.
